Nagpur is a city in the state of Maharashtra. It is also famous throughout the country as "Orange City" for being a major trade center of oranges. The city assumes political importance from being the headquarters for the Hindu nationalist organisation RSS. Nagpur lies precisely at the center of the country with the Zero mile marker (indicating the geographical center of India) located here.
It lies near River Nag. This is also famous for many educational institute. Nagpur is also the major commercial and political center of Maharashtra. Places to visit in the city are Dhamma Chakra Stupa(Deekshabhoomi), Japanese Rose Garden, Pench National Park, Sri Balaji and Sri Kartikeya Temple, Tadoba National Park etc.
A small village in the Nagpur District. The village contains fine old temples. In the temple of Ganpati the image consists of a single stone set up so that worshippers may walk around it. On a hill near the village is a temple of Mahadeo with three lingas, which are believed to have come out of the ground by themselves.
Situated around 60kms. from Nagpur.It is best in winter, though it tends to be crowded on weekends.It is yet to be developed to its full potential.Waterfalls and a forest are the main attractions.
Ambazari Lake is a picnic spot with dynamic activities. During weekends and evenings, tourists throng to the shore of this lake to have merry making and enjoyments. The lake offers great facilities for thrilling boating experiences.

The structure of a mammoth dinosaur at the entrance is very attractive to the visitors.
Bohra Masjid is an architecturally constructed beautiful mosque in Shantinagar, Itwari in Nagpur. Bohra Masjid is the mosque for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Nagpur. This mosque attracts many Islam believers from India and abroad. This mosque witnesses huge crowd for the prayers on Fridays.
A large community hall is also enclosed in the premises of Bohra Masjid. This hall is used for community gatherings, celebrations and wedding receptions by the community people.

Butibori is an industrial suburb of Nagpur, India and is developed as 5 Star Industrial district by Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC). Butibori's total area acquired is 23.12 square kilometres out of which 14.94 km? is developed. The area is developed economic development of Nagpur city. The area receives water supply from Wadgaon Dam. Butibori also claims Maharashtra's first Food-Park. In order to invite textile industries a common effluent treatment plant is also built.
It is situated in Nagpur, Maharashtra, a location regarded as a pilgrimage center of Buddhism in India. Thousands of pilgrims visit Deekshabhoomi every year, especially on Ashok Vijaya Dashmi and the 14th of October. A great stupa is built at that place. Deekshabhoomi is a sacred monument of Buddhism at the place where Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar was converted to Buddhism along with thousands of his followers on October 14, 1956. Dr. Ambedkar's conversion to Buddhism is still a guidance for the masses in India.
Deeksha literally means acceptance of religion. Deeksha is to Buddhism as Baptism is to Christianity. Bhoomi means land. So, literally Deekshabhoomi means the land where people get converted to Buddhism. Deekshabhoomi is famous for its architectural beauty and historical importance. It is also one of the main centers of tourism in India. The stupa is worth seeing due to its architectural beauty. It can accommodate more than 5,000 people. The stupa is made out of Dhaulpur sandstones, marbles and granites. The attractive dome has a height of 120 feet.
Dhapewada is situated on the bank of Chandrabhaga river. The town possesses a notable temple of Vithoba, overlooking the river. It was built by Umaji Aba, Diwan to Raja Baji Rao Bhonsla. Dhapewada is being known as Vidarbha's Pandharpur.
Futala Lake is a famous lake in Nagpur, which is a favorite hangout place for Nagpur populaces of all age groups. Futala lake, built by Raje Bhosle dating back to centuries, is known for its charming atmosphere and coloured fountains. The pleasant atmosphere and the eye feasting surrounding make it a beautiful picnic spot visited by hundreds of people everyday. The evenings are more beautiful to wander out under the imposing illumination of colored halogen lights.
Gorewada Lake is situated on the north-west corner of Nagpur city. It is created with a dam 2,350 feet long.
Refreshing Greenery is the keyword for Japanese Rose Garden in Nagpur. It is located at civil lines in Nagpur and is the best place in Nagpur for morning walks and bird watching. The colorfully painted iron structures in the garden bring the style of the Japanese gardens and hence the name Japanese Rose Garden.

Khekranala is a dam site situated in Khapra range forest. This area is palm green and finest natural and fascinating with a bracing climate and healthy environment round the year. The water reservoir is quite and surrounded by thick forest on two side.
Famous mainly for its large and picturesque lake. Boating facilities are also offered. Khindsi is very close to Ramtek, in fact you can combine the two places in a single trip.
Lake Garden Sakkardara is a famous weekend attraction of families in Nagpur. The vast expanse of playing fields and the scenic beauty are the real attractions to this garden. The Garden is located on the shore of the Sakkardara Lake. The serene lake add the beauty of the surroundings.
Maharajbagh Zoo is the central zoo of Nagpur, India. The zoo is located in the heart of the city and has been built on the garden of the Bhonsle and Maratha rulers of the city.
The zoo is home to leopards, lion, tiger, peacock and other animals. Of the famous attractions in the zoo - a pair of leopards-Julie and Gopal died of old age in 2006. The pair's little cub is still in the zoo.
The musical garden is located at Surya Nagar, Nagpur and is built under the direction of Jaiprakash Gupta, NIT trustee. The theme of the garden is Music in and out. The sprawling garden has pleasant ambience and is having a landscaped lawn. It has many attractive musical fountains, with themes of nodes of music, ragas and raganis conducted by musician. There is an open air theater which can accommodate about 2500 people and the theater is intended for musical concerts. It is a center of attraction for the Nagpur populace.
Nagardhan is an old town and was formerly of considerable importance as it gave its name to the district. It was founded by a Suryawanshi King, but Mr. Hiralal supposes it to have been established by King named Nandvardhan belonging to the Shail Dynasty. There is a fort said to have been built by the Bhonslas with brick walls.
Nawegaon, Vidarbha's most popular forest resort, is the ultimate adventure spot. It is said to have been built by Kolu Patel Kohli in the beginning of the 18th century. There's picturesque lake set in the midst of hill ranges with watch towers that enable you to view wildlife. Make sure you visit the deer park, the Dr. Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, the three beautiful gardens and the children's park. Almost 60% of the birds species found in Maharashtra have been recorded in Nawegaon. You may see the leopard, sloth bear, gaur, sambar, chital or the langur.
Situated around 86kms. from Nagpur, this National Park is a place good for a day's visit. It is built around the Pench Irrigation project, a joint venture of the Maharashtra and MP Governments.This park is also known as Jawaharlal Nehru Udyan.

Ramtek fort temple has a legendary story in its credit. This is assumed to be the sacred place where Lord Rama took rest before leaving to conquer Lanka. The Ramtek fort temple is centuries old with main deity as Lord Rama. The temple is located within a fort which is situated at a calm hilltop. This is a marvelous and cool place to keep off from madding crowds of the city. The unpolluted air in this hillock makes the environment healthy and rejuvenating.
Named after the Seminary of St. Charles this hillock is about 6 kms.west of the old city giving a captivating panoramic view of the city.

Shukravati Lake is one of the renowned picnic spots in Nagpur. This is a place away from the hustle and bustle of the crowded city. The lake is located at a natural scenic place. The lake is calm and is a hub of many water bodies. One important attraction here is the centre for Rheumatic diseases sponsored by Nagpur Municipal corporation with the support of Vidharabha Seva Samiti. There is a well equipped Panchkarma centre attached to this centre. This centre offers treatments for variety of rheumatic disorders.
A visit to Nagpur is not complete without a visit to this important landmark of Sitabuldi Fort, nestled on the Twin Mountains. In the year 1857 a British officer, built this fort and since then it has been one of the interesting destinations in Nagpur.
Sri Balaji and Sri Karitikeya Temple is a Hindu religious destination in Nagpur. It is located at the scenic mount known as Seminary hills. The temple complex enshrines Lord Balaji and Lord Katikeya (Lord Muruga, son of Lord Shiva). This complex is run by Motibagh Shri Skanda Samaj.

In the year 1923, this beautiful temple was built with marble and sandstone carving work. The three principle characters of the Indian epic-The Ramayana are the presiding deities.
Tadoba National Park is the oldest National Park in Maharashtra and is located at the outskirts of Nagpur. It is declared in 1993 as a Project Tiger reserve. Tadoba village is known as the 'the Jewel of Vidarbha'. The name Tadoba is derived from the local deity of the inhabitants Gond tribals.
A marvelous site for the wild life enthusiasts, Tadoba has rich collections of flora and fauna. The main attractions here are the lake inside the park and the rich deciduous teak forest. The lake is the natural habitat of many water birds and the forest shelters many wild species including tigers.
Telankadi Lake, one of the best picnic spot to relax during evenings and weekends, is located at a scenic location in the outskirts of Nagpur. The lake is an absoluter family vacation place with kids playing park, impressive soft sandy shore, well laid roads and colorful illuminating lights. The beautiful garden with spacious walking trails and playing fields for kids is situated on the banks of the Lake. There is a marvelous aquarium exhibiting many varieties of fishes and fishing articles. This place is a favorite location for merry making trips from schools.
Telankhedi Hanuman temple is a famous temple located on the one shore of the Telankadi Lake. The temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman and the idol in the temple has a unique attraction. Legends relate the origin of the temple with Lord Rama, who relaxed in a hillock in Nagpur.
The Hanuman Idol in the temple is assumed to have miraculous powers and the devotees visit this temple very often to have prayers. The temple atmosphere is cool and calm and offers a good spiritual environment of mind soothing.
Telankhedi Shiva temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in his pristine form is located nearby the famous temple of Hanuman. This is a renowned religious place among the Shiva devotees. A marvelous structure of the Nandi adorns the entrance of the temple. The sanctorum is small but very attractive. The temple, dates back to many years, is witnessing a huge flow of devotees during the important festival days. Mahashivaratri is celebrated here with many rituals and festivities. Many small shrines of various Hindu Gods are placed in the surroundings.
The Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru National Park is situated in this area. It is surrounded by Satpuda hills providing a pleasant climate. This National Park is best known for animal viewing, bird watching and trekking. There is also situated a hydroelectric project, a joint venture of Govt. of Maharashtra and Madhya Predesh.
