Jalgaon is the district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was formerly known as East Khandesh district. Jalgaon is near the world famous Ajanta Caves and is one of the key attraction places for tourists all around the World. It is a major business centre for tea, gold, pulses, cotton and bananas.
Tourism in Jalgaon district offers a number of beautiful sights to the tourist. There are many places for the visitors to choose from, ranging from forts, places of natural beauty and even a number of temples for the pilgrims. These include the Sri Padmalaya temple, Saint Muktabai temple and the Changdeo Temple among others.
Avchit Hanuman Temple near Rameshwaram is a famous tourist spot as it is situated on the bank of river Tapi and is surrounded by the beautiful Satpudas It is about 15 kms from Jalgaon. Large number of devotees attend the annul festival on Hanuman Jayanti.
Changdeo Temple is located at beautiful natural location in back water area of Hatnur dam. The location also has confluence of Tapi and Purna rivers. The Temple is given Protected Monument status by ASI India with its rich design and ancient art work done.
The Ecchapurti Ganesh Temple is located near the Balaji Sweet Mart at Navi Peth. During the time of Ganesh Chaturthi, large numbers of devotees visit this temple.
This forestry has Deity Chandika's ancient times temple.The full moonday in the month of chaitra and kartik are observed here with special celebrations.It also has Bhaskarachya Herbs centre and a fountain originating from the Titur River. Hemandpanthi Mahadev Temple, Pitalkhora Caves are in this forestry, with some of the rare wild life animals which add to the essence of the forest.
Girana dam is the region's largest dam located at a distance of 35kms from Chalisgaon city and is built on Girana, Panjhan and Mausaum rivers. The view from the top of the Dam looks like someone is watching an ocean's view.
Keki Moos Art Gallery is the world's biggest one man painting/ photography collection of over is worth 13,000 arts master pieces situated near Chalisgaon City (85kms approx).
Khandesh Mahotsav seeks to celebrate the true spirit of Khandesh and to highlight the brightest and the best of Khandesh. The main objective of the Mahotsav is to provide an assured platform to encourage local art, culture, tradition and every other type of talent that this land is blessed with.

The Mahotsav is being organized by the Jalgaon Tourism Development Khandesh Mahotsav Trust in collaboration with the Department of Tourism , Government of Maharashtra, and with valuable support from the Jalgaon city Munciple Corporation , the Zilha Parishad Jalgaon , and most importantly the people of Jalgaon from corporate houses to self-help group.
India has just two Mangal (Mars) Graha Temples and Amalner's temple is one amongst those. Located on Chopda Road, this temple holds utmost religious importance and offer a peaceful surronding to do prayers.
Manudevi Temple is located in beautiful natural surroundings near Adgaon village in Yawal Taluka. Manudevi is the kuldevi(family deity) of 70% people in the district. There is a nice water fall with breathtaking view. The way to the temple is a very good trek with the path going through a small river 7 times. The temple is surrounded by forested hills. A fair is also held annually.
The temple is fully covered with Satpuda hills and turns lush green during Monsoon making it a more pleasured family tourist spot. Another attraction of the Manudevi is that it has a 400-feet high fountain having flowing water for 6-7 months in a year, a beautiful mini lake.Also the recent development allows even a vehicle to reach the temple.
Omkareshwar Mandir is one of the most famous and beautiful temples in Jalgaon City, dedicated to Lord Shiva, situated at Jai Nagar. Shivratri, Shravni Somvar, Ramnavmi, Gokulashtami are the biggest festivals celebrated in this temple.
Pal is a famous hill station of Jalgaon district surrounded by tribal villages and it's about 35 kms from Jalgaon city. The forest around this place is full of wild life.
Pal, located in Yawal Taluka, is very famous for its cool temperature and the natural peace with dense forests. The small river and forests make a ideal picnic spot. There is a guesthouse also if you want to stay overnight.
Parola fort was built in 1727 and the size of the fort is 160 to 130-sq-meters. It is believed that the fort belongs to the father of the Great Rani of Jhansi, Laxmibai. Hence, Parola is believed to be the native of Rani Laxmibai.
Patnadevi is an religious place. It is also the birthplace of the great Scientist Bhaskaracharya.
This natural spot is located at a distance of 12 kms from Chalisgaon and holds historic importance with Lord Rama having arrived here on banks of Girana River. It also has grand Mahadev Temple at Bahal.
Saint Muktabai temple is region's ancient temple with Goddess Muktabai being honoured at deity of region. There are two temples of this deity namely Mehun temple and new Muktabai Temple located in MuktaiNagar city.
The Saint Sakharam Maharaj Temple is one of popular religious places in the region and is named as the copy of Pandharpur (West Maharashtra). The Temple has various Deity temples inside it. The Annual Saint Sakharam Maharaj Festival is very popular throughout Maharashtra.
Shivdham is a religious place located in Ratnapimpri village of Parola taluka and has nicely designed and maintained Lord Shiva temple and has huge number of devotees during Shivratri period. The most trusted place amongst devotees and so the number of devotees visited is huge in numbers.
Among the two and a half Shree Ganapati Peeths in India, this is regarded as the half Peeth. It is called as Padmalaya Kshetra. This temple is located at the top of a hill. There are small temples on all sides of the main temple. The padukas of Shree Govind Maharaj are located in front of the temple. There is a huge bell next to the padukas.
There are two self existent (Swayambhu) Ganesh idols in the sanctum. One idol has its trunk curving to the right and the other to the left. Padmalaya also known, as "Prabhakshetra" is a religious place located in Erandol Taluka about 4.8-km from Erandol. It is famous for the temples of Lord Ganapati and Hanuman. It's the most visited temple amongst all the temples in Khandesh and the number of visitors increases on Sankashti Chaturthi of every month.
Swinging Towers located 16-km from Erandol on the bank of Utawadi River are a great example of old construction techniques. Both the towers are 15m long and when one of them is waved the other towers also starts waving automatically. It is believed that the construction is 250 years old.
Unapdev is located at a distance of 25kms from Chopda city and 4kms from Adavad. Unapdev is listed as an ASI site.
Hot-water springs are situated in the Satpudas at Unapdeo in Chopda tehsil. Like Unapdev, Sunapdev, Nijhardev are two other hot water breezes generated in Satpuda hills range. All these three places have special mention in ancient holy 'Ramayana' and had auspicious touch of Lord Rama during his fourteen years expulsion from Ayodhya.
This place has Walmik Rishi "Samadhi Sthala" and is located at a distance of 6kms from Chalisgaon. It has various activities every Amavasya.
